Fequestly Asked Questions

Please reach us at haylee@nod.org.nz if you cannot find an answer to your question.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 11:59PM.

What age range of children do you care for?

We care for children from 6 weeks to 16 years old.

Do you offer part-time care?

Yes, this is all we do! Part time and on-demand care. You can book for two or four hours with one of our nannies or sitters.

Can I trust your nannies and sitters?

We absolutely think so! We only work with professionals we’d trust with our own children. Our nannies and sitters are actively engaged in the industry, working full or part-time, and they are cherished members of their communities. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us at hello@nod.org.nz or call +64 21 631 223. We’re here to help. Please note that official police vetting is currently in progress, and we’ll update our nanny and sitter profiles once completed.

How much does NOD cost?

Using NOD is free – you only pay the nanny or sitter at their listed rate, with no hidden fees. Our professionals set their own fees based on experience, typically ranging from $50 for a two-hour service to $100+ for four hours, depending on qualifications. Payment is processed online at the time of booking, ensuring our nannies and sitters are paid promptly each day.

Is the cost the same for more than one child?

Yes, it is! Our nannies can care for up to three children at a time for the same rate.

Can I stay home while the nanny / sitter is there?

Definitely. Many parents appreciate having a helping hand while they take care of other things around the house. Whether you want to relax in the next room, tackle your to-do list, or even take a nap, we’re here to support you.

Will the nanny or sitter do light household chores?

Our nannies and sitters are primarily focused on caring for your children, which is their main priority. While some may offer extra help around the house, it's not expected. The children’s well-being comes first. However, stay tuned as we plan to introduce a household support service soon.

Can I choose my nanny or sitter?

Absolutely! During the booking process, you’ll be able to view all available nannies and sitters for your chosen date and time. You can read their profiles, reviews, and make the final decision on who best fits your family's needs. You’ll also be able to browse their profiles on our Meet the Nannies page before you begin booking,

How quickly will my nanny or sitter arrive?

You can book a nanny with just an hour’s notice, and she’ll arrive 10 minutes before the start time to get acquainted with you and your children.

Can I book for a whole day?

Our services are designed to provide on-demand support, so bookings are available for two or four hours. We aim to offer flexible support for parents when they need it most. If you're looking for a more permanent childcare solution, NOD might not be the right fit for you.

What happens if I arrive home late or get held up?

We include a 15-minute buffer before and after bookings. If you need to extend your time, just reach out to us at hello@nod.org.nz or +64 21 631 223. Please refer to our booking policy for details on additional charges and how you’ll be invoiced for extended time.

Can I meet my nanny or sitter first?

Yes absolutely! We do offer a meet and greet service. It's a one-off 30 minute booking of which the cost is deducted from your booking if you end up booking the same nanny or sitter post the meet. Although, most just go ahead with the booking! Our sitters are highly rated, trusted and respected within every family they assist.

Can I book the same nanny or sitter again?

Yes, you can! If they’re available, go ahead and book them again.

What if the nanny is sick or unavailable at the last minute?

While life happens and unexpected situations can arise, we’re prepared. If your nanny or sitter is unavailable, they’ll notify us, and we’ll reach out to suggest a replacement. We’ll provide profiles for your consideration, and if we can’t find a suitable match, we’ll offer a full refund.

I need urgent care due to a daycare stand-down, closure, or for a school pickup – does NOD handle this?

Absolutely – last-minute requests are our specialty. If transportation is required, we’ll contact you after your booking to discuss the details and ensure your child’s safety. If necessary, we’ll also notify the school.

Will the nanny or babysitter look after my child when sick?

Yes, this will be OK, it comes with the territory of being a nanny. But please do give us a heads up. We are here to help (particuarly for daycare stand downs), but we do need to know so we can prepare.
