Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2025

About these terms

By using the NOD platform — whether as a parent, guardian, or nanny — you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our platform.

What NOD does

NOD is a platform that connects parents and guardians with independent nannies and carers. We facilitate bookings, payments, and communication between both parties.

NOD is not an employer of nannies. Nannies operating through NOD are independent contractors. NOD is responsible for vetting nannies, but the nanny-parent relationship is between those two parties.

Eligibility

To use NOD, you must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement.

By creating an account, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and up to date.

Bookings and cancellations

All bookings are confirmed at the time of payment. By completing a booking, you are entering into an agreement with the nanny for childcare services.

Cancellations made with reasonable notice may be eligible for a full or partial refund, at NOD's discretion.

If a nanny cancels, NOD will make reasonable efforts to find a replacement. If no replacement is available, you will receive a full refund.

Please review our cancellation policy in your account settings for current timeframes and conditions.

Payments

All payments are processed securely through our payment provider. You authorise NOD to charge the payment method associated with your account for any bookings made.

Nanny rates are set by the nanny based on their experience. NOD may charge a platform fee, which will be disclosed at the time of booking.

All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) unless otherwise stated.

Your responsibilities

As a parent or guardian using NOD, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your children and care requirements.

• Treat nannies with respect.

• Ensure a safe environment for the nanny during their time in your home.

• Pay for bookings as agreed.

• Not contact nannies directly outside of the platform for the purpose of arranging unpaid care.

Nanny responsibilities

Nannies using the NOD platform agree to:

• Provide accurate information during the vetting process.

• Arrive on time and fulfil bookings as agreed.

• Provide safe, attentive care to children at all times.

• Notify NOD promptly if they are unable to fulfil a booking.

• Not solicit direct, off-platform bookings from families they meet through NOD.

Vetting and safety

NOD takes the safety of children seriously. All nannies undergo a vetting process that includes identity verification, reference checks, interviews, and experience review.

While we take every reasonable precaution, NOD cannot guarantee the conduct of individual nannies. Parents are encouraged to review profiles, read reviews, and meet nannies before booking.

Limitation of liability

NOD provides a platform to facilitate connections between parents and nannies. To the fullest extent permitted by law, NOD is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from the conduct of any nanny or parent.

Our total liability to you in connection with any claim arising from use of our platform shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the relevant booking.

Intellectual property

All content on the NOD platform — including text, images, branding, and design — is owned by or licensed to NOD. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our prior written consent.

Account termination

NOD reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or behaves in a way that is harmful to other users.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the platform. Continued use of NOD after changes have been made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
